One of the best established and well regarded of Roatan’s fly-fishing lodges, Mango Creek is a small eco resort in Port Royal harbour on the island’s East End. It has four over-the-water cabanas, plus a further two lodge rooms, with space for a maximum of 18 guests at any one time. The fishing program covers both fly and spin fishing for bonefish, tarpon and permit on the nearby flats with experienced English-speaking guides.
A beachfront development on the island of Guanaja in Honduras, Graham’s Place comprises a selection of villas and suites, plus a 16-room hotel. Permit and bonefish are regular visitors to the pristine flats right outside the lodge – excellent guides are available for hire locally, but experienced bonefishermen will be happy to go it alone; this is DIY bonefishing heaven.

Small, privately-owned and operated resort 2km north of Xcalak, near Mexico’s border with Belize. Sits on legendary Chetumal Bay, a fly-fishing hotspot famous for its excellent numbers of bonefish and permit. Not specifically a fishing lodge, but with competitive rates, a beautiful and secluded location, and some excellent DIY options, this is a great choice for fishermen travelling with family.
