Write for Fishipedia!

Been on an incredible fishing trip recently? Had one of those days you feel you just have to tell other people about? Then we want to hear from you. Whether you’ve been wading the Bahamian flats for bonefish, chasing sailfish off Guatemala, or stalking trout on the chalkstreams of England, why not share your experiences with the readers of Fishipedia?

The thing about us fishermen is that we’re obsessive. It comes with the territory. If we’re not out there fishing, we’re thinking about it, reading about it, chatting on forums about it, watching videos about. It’s all consuming, and if you’re here on this website, chances are you know exactly what we’re talking about. We’re with you all the way.

Once you’ve been fishing for any length of time, you start to realise that the fishing community is a special place – wherever you are in the world, you meet another fisherman and the bond is pretty much instant. We love to swap stories and hear about other people’s catches (even if it makes jealous from time to time). The internet has opened up that conversation like nothing else before it, allowing us to find out about new places, new species, new methods, and new ways to satisfy our craving.

That’s where you come in. If you’d like to write about a trip you’ve just been on, we want to hear from you. You don’t have to be the next Thomas McGuane or John Gierach, you don’t have to be an English scholar, you just have to be a fisherman (or woman of course), plain and simple. That’s enough for us. Your piece can be as long or short as you like – all we ask is that you include at least one photo.

So, what are you waiting for? It’s time to get writing. If you’re interested, simply email rory@fishipedia.com with either suggestions or fully-formed features.

Tight lines, people

Hello-I have made two trips to Brazil by myself (I’m a woman) and I have caught some great fish. I would be happy to make a contribution, if you would like. I’m also a photographer, so you can be sure I have the photos also. Please let me know if you are interested and also the format that you need.
