New Year special at Pesca Maya, Mexico

January 4th, 2011| No Comments

That’s it folks, the holidays are over. And if, like us, you’re looking for a way to drag yourself out of the traditional January slump, there’s only one thing for it. It’s time to start planning that next fishing holiday.

The good news is it’s a great time to book your next fishing holiday, with lodges around the world lining up to tempt you with new year offers. First out out of the traps for 2011 is Pesca Maya in Mexico’s Ascension Bay who are offering a 15% discount for anyone booking before January 31st.

This deal is available on one-week stays at Pesca Maya, bringing the price down from $3,295 to $2,800, a saving of nearly $500. (April and May excluded from the offer, as are day trips).

This flats fishing mecca on the Riviera Maya has been servicing visiting anglers’ needs since 1996 and is among the area’s best operators. As a mixed fishery, Ascension Bay is hard to top, but crucially it also offers fishermen a great chance of bagging the flats grand slam (bonefish, permit and tarpon all in a day).

Situated on a long strip of barrier beach 90 miles south of Cancun, the lodge is virtually surrounded by water. To the east lies the Caribbean and on the western side lies the vast ‘El Rio’ system of flats, channels and mangroves.

Pesca Maya can accommodate 22 anglers in the lodge, fishing from 12 boats with the best guides in the area, and a beautiful beach where you can relax while not fishing.
