As well as their lodging and full-service fishing holidays, Propiedad de Paradise also offer day sportfishing charters for those people who are pressed for time or on holiday with family and looking for just a day on the water. Offering pick-ups from both Boca Chica and Pedregal, day trips can be tailored to fish either the offshore waters around Islas Secas, Hannibal Bank and Isla Montuosa, or you can fish inshore among the “lost islands of Baru” in the Golfo de Chiriqui National Marine Park.
The fishing
Propiedad de Paradise’s fleet comprises three boats. First up is their 33’ custom center console sportfishing World Cat, powered by Twin Four Stroke Yamahas – this is great for targeting tuna, sailfish and marlin at Hannibal Bank, Isla Montuosa, and Isla Secas (max four anglers). The other 33’ Burro del Mar, takes up to six anglers, and is perfect for inshore charter fishing around the islands of Baru and the National Marine Park for snapper, grouper and roosterfish. There’s also a 26′ custom center console sport fishing Sea Craft, Scandalous, powered by twin 130 hp Hondas. This is the vessel of choice for trolling the island for sailfish, dorado, wahoo and tuna (maximum four anglers).
Tackle includes Penn international rods, Shimano & AFT reels, TLD 25s, downriggers, outriggers, live-bait rigging, dead bait rigging and special lure fishing – popping, jigging, high speed offshore trolling, planers, z-wings, and specialized patterns. Fly-fishing tactics are encouraged.
