Captain Laurent, better known as Boboss, is a lifelong resident of the Arcachon Bay area, and has been guiding fishermen in these waters for years. He specialises in fishing for bass, and offers tuna and shark fishing on request.
The fishing
A unique geographical setting makes Arcachon Bay a serious fishing destination. With its network of sand bars, tidal rips and nutrient-rich, protected waters, this basin is a magnet for bass (or bar as they’re known round these parts).
Captain Boboss is the man to get you into them. Fishing from a 26’ centre-console (with the cockpit positioned at the rear to allow maximum casting room) Boboss employs a multi-disciplined approach, offering bait-fishing over wrecks, trolling for tuna, and probably most popular of all – light-tackle sport for bass.
A variety of techniques will score for bass, including live sand eels, soft plastics, hard plugs and surface baits. Fly-fishing is also successful. Boboss can also arrange for surf casting on the beaches, and lure fishing from on the rocks.
