The fishing

Spending an average of 250 days a year on the water, Jim’s understanding of the fish he pursues has made him one of the most respected fishing guides on Florida’s East Coast. Heralded as one of the pioneers of shallow water, sight-fishing on the grass flats of the Indian, Banana, and Mosquito Lagoons in the early 1980s, his track-record of catching redfish, snook, trout and tarpon here is pretty much unrivalled.

Captain Jim has two boats to choose from – an extremely shallow-running 17′ skiff made for stalking fish in the Mosquito Lagoon, or his larger Skeeter ZX-2250 Bay boat. This is his boat of choice for running the Indian and Banana River Lagoons, and also for handling larger angling parties (up to four).
