The Zancudo Lodge – Golfito, Costa Rica
The Zancudo Lodge has long been an institution in Costa Rica fishing. A fleet of 12 boats, top-notch accommodation and superb amenities all located on the private Zancudo Beach just outside Golfito make this fishing lodge one of the most acclaimed destinations on Costa Rica’s Pacific Coast.
The fishing
The Zancudo Lodge, where over 60 I.G.F.A records have been set, is world renowned for its inshore and offshore fishing. The lodge will customize any range of fishing adventure the angler desires, from inshore (roosterfish, jacks, snook, snapper, mackerel) to offshore (marlin, sailfish, tuna, dorado, wahoo) or fishing the river banks. They carry the most modern fishing equipment and clients have the option to select their tackle of choice, from ultra-light to fly. The captains are all highly trained and all speak English. The fleet consists of 12 modern 28′ center consoles powered by twin Suzuki four stroke engines. Each boat, custom-built for fishing, is equipped with the latest electronics, live bait wells and outriggers.
The facilities
The 20 rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with a mini-bar, international phone service, direct TV satellite television, and modern en-suite bathroom. There is daily maid and laundry service. There is, of course, a restaurant and bar and the lodge can arrange other excursions where desired, including horseback riding, kayak tours, canopy tours and surfing.
