Combining luxury amenities with typically knockout Andros Island bonefishing (as well as some excellent offshore sport), this resort in stunning South Andros is something of a one-off. It’s also a great option for those holidaying with non-fishing companions/family.

The fishing

Bonefish are the primary target, and Tiamo have a number of excellent local guides ready to put you in amongst them. With Andros’s South Bight on its doorstep, you have instant access to one of the world’s finest fisheries and a fertile ground for some of the largest bonefish to be found anywhere. Shots at large single-digit fish are common, while double-digit bonefish also put in frequent appearances. Trips to the uninhabited West Side can also be arranged, where you might get a shot at tarpon. And don’t rule out the odd permit showing up to the party.

If you fancy something a little different, Tiamo also has its own fully-equipped 28’ World Cat Boat for deep-sea fishing, targeting wahoo, yellowfin and blackfin tuna, dorado, kingfish and albacore.

The facilities

A selection of 10 cottages are available, all of which are designed using local materials with an eco-chic ethos. Take your pick from a Pool Cottage, Cool Cottage or Island Cottage.

Elsewhere at the resort you’ll find a range of upscale amenities to match the luxury accommodation. There’s an infinity pool, great room (where most of the dining happens), the beach deck, a library and, of course, a private beach. And if you suddenly find you want a day off from the fishing (unlikely as that may seem) you can choose from a range of other activities including snorkelling, diving, sailing and nature tours.
