Rickmon Bonefish Lodge – Sandy Point, Abaco, Bahamas
Located in Sandy Point, on Abaco’s south-western point, this lodge offers access to some of the best bonefishing on Abaco. Owner Ricardo Burrows is rated as one of the island’s finest guides, and his experience, along with that of his hand-picked team of local guides, keep anglers coming back here year after year.
The fishing
What you get here is miles and miles of unpressured flats, plenty of bonefish in the 3-6lb class and frequent sightings of double digit fish. This is also one of the best places in the Bahamas for targeting Permit – nearby Moore’s Island in particular is a favourite spot for them. Great fishing is to be had near the lodge too, with a productive flat right outside where you can grab some “out-of-hours” action. The hard-bottomed flats around Rickmon Lodge make this a great area for wading.
The facilities
The lodge, a two-story, plantation-style building has 11 air-conditioned rooms. Five of these overlook the ocean and all have great views. There’s also an outside deck area, bar, wireless internet, TV, and a pool table.
Rates
4 nights/3 days fishing: $1,697 (single occupancy: $2,346)
7 nights/6 days fishing: $2,850 (single occupancy: $3,626)

I’ve fished from Exuma, Atkins, Crooked, and Andros Is. My favorite is Sandy Point. I watched Rickmon’s lodge being built and fished there a number of times.
You can stay in the boat or wade or even run to Moore’s Island-very diversified opportunities to fish. My largest there 11lbs. Great place!
