Not a dedicated bonefish lodge, but the nearest you’ll find on Eleuthera. UK-based Bonefish Graham has been hosting his Bonefish Adventure Tours here for years now. Renowned for its hospitality and top-notch service, this is the perfect base for the wandering bonefisherman.
The fishing
Based just north of Governor’s Harbour, this oceanfront inn is a perfect place for DIY bonefishermen. Guests get a copy of Bonefish Graham’s Bonefishing Guide on arrival, with hints and tips on where to track down fish in the area. You’d do well to hire a car – although there are plenty of flats nearby, you’ll want the extra level of flexibility. And remember, the Caribbean tide runs two hours behind the Atlantic, so you get to fish the prime tide twice. The size of bonefish varies greatly and you’re likely to encounter everything between 1 and 10lbs.
The facilities
Comfy and spacious rooms (all air-conditioned), including mini-kitchens, private baths and great views. The Nautical Restaurant and Bar is one of the best on the island for true native dishes, excellent continental specialties, not to mention exceptional sunsets. Also available for guest use: tennis court, swimming pool, kayaks and snorkelling equipment.
