North Andros Fly Fishing – Nicholls Town, Andros, Bahamas
As the name suggests, Phillipe Rolle’s North Andros Flyfishing is based up at the northern end of Andros Island, giving it great access to the world-renowned Joulters Cays. It’s a small operation catering for a maximum of six anglers.
The fishing
The preferred hunting ground for Phillip Rolle and his team is the Joulter Cays. And with good reason – on this sprawling 20-mile stretch of idyllic flats, the average bonefish runs 5-7lbs, and there’s always a chances to cast at double-digit bones. Catching them is another thing of course. Also on the menu are permit, snapper, barracuda and tarpon. Pre-arranged trips to the uninhabited West Side of Andros may also be available.
The facilities
Comfortable, air-conditioned three-bedroom cottage nestled in a tropical garden, just a two-minute walk from the beach. Includes cable TV, full kitchen, rod holders, wading boot drying racks. And it’s just a five-minute walk to the local watering holes.

The Joulters offers the ultimate in wade fishing for bones. The accommodations are not luxurious, but are plenty comfortable enough. Phillip Rolle and his lovely wife Betsy are very good and friendly hosts. If you love to wade endless sand flats hunting bonefish, it doesn’t get any better than this.
