Located on the shores of the Pongola dam in KwaZulu Natal, Nkonkoni Tiger Fishing Camp is a self-catering fishing lodge with great access to some of the area’s best tigerfishing.
The fishing
It’s all about tigerfishing here, with fish in the Pongola Dam reaching weights in excess of 8kg. Light tackle tactics work well but recently this has become a mecca for those looking to go for tigerfish on the fly. The boat launch is less than 1km from the lodge.
The facilities
Nkonkoni Tiger Fishing Camp is designed for the fisherman and his family, providing self-catering accommodation for six people in each luxury tent or chalet. Spacious layout and common dining facilities ensure an excellent atmosphere on site. Also available are air-conditioning (some units), airport transfers (less than 15km), big game (less than 30km), boat trips (less than 5km), onsite barbecue, kitchen, laundry, pool and TV.
