Mangrove Cay Club – Andros, Bahamas
The Mangrove Cay Club is proud of its location and rightly so. Situated in a remote spot at the heart of Andros, this stylish lodge provides easy access to a huge variety of bonefish grounds – the North, Middle and South Bights are all within striking distance, as are the West Side’s remote flats.
The fishing
No trailering or long boat rides are necessary at the Mangrove Cay Club. Some of the Bahamas’ best fly-fishing is to be found minutes from the lodge. Just look at its location on the map – it’s surrounded by bights and creeks, and all those places are home to untold numbers of bonefish, some of them huge. A crew of local, well-trained guides work in rotation so you get to fish with a variety of different guys while you’re here.
The facilities
A maximum of 16 anglers are accommodated in eight air-conditioned suites spread out along the shore and all are a short walk from the main lodge. On the outside wall of each suite is a rod rack that will hold four rods, a bucket for soaking reels and a freshwater hose for washing rods and all other equipment each day. All eight suites have high a bedroom, a sitting room, an oversized bathroom and a private porch overlooking the Middle Bight.
Thanks to resident chef, Iyke Moore, the food has a reputation to rival the fishing, with dinners focusing on fresh local seafood and lunches prepared by anglers themselves from a sandwich bar.
Also to be found on site is a small shop fly-tying table, an office with telephones and a laptop computer with wireless high speed internet for your use.

7 nights/6 days fishing: $4,600
4 nights/3 days fishing: $2,940

Price includes: Accommodation, guided flats fishing, all meals, round trip airport to lodge transfer, beverages including house wines, bar liquors, beer, bottled water, soft drinks, room taxes.
Price does not include: Air fare, some wines and liquors, gratuities, Bahamian departure tax of $15 and items of a personal nature (telephone calls, fly shop purchases etc).
