This beautiful beachfront hotel, accommodating guests in twelve tropical rooms and located on the picturesque northwest corner of the island, looks out onto the beautiful Bird Rock Lighthouse. It’s a perfect destination for the angler looking for a mix of flats, inshore and offshore fishing.
The fishing
So many options, you may well find it hard to decide. In terms of flats fishing, you’ll be concentrating on the south side of Crooked Island. The average bonefish is around 3-4lbs, with regular shots at 6-8lb fish. Permit can be found most of the year as well as the occasional tarpon. For a bit of variety, anglers can try inshore fishing, catching grouper, snapper, jacks, mackerel, sharks, and barracuda. The offshore fishing is also first rate, thanks to the fact that these fishing grounds remain largely unspoilt. Daily catches often exceed 30 fish, with wahoo, dorado, tuna and marlin (depending on the season) all present.
The facilities
Guests are accommodated in 12 comfortable, spacious and air-conditioned rooms, with the management priding themselves on personalized attention. As well as the exhaustive fishing schedule, Crooked Island Lodge offers a full diving program and snorkelling excursions. Secluded beach picnics and lighthouse tours can also be arranged. This is very much a destination for those who like seclusion.
