Nestled between unspoiled rainforest and the banks of the Moho River, Cotton Tree Lodge offers a tranquil retreat on 100 private acres in the undiscovered Toledo district of Belize. With 11 thatched cabanas in six different styles, Cotton Tree Lodge can accommodate individuals, couples, families, or friends travelling together.

The fishing

Fly-fishing is available from November to May. Exploring the fish-rich waters around Cotton Tree Lodge, your guide will help you target bonefish, tarpon, permit, and snook.

There’s also bottom and reef fishing available for snapper, grouper, jacks, barracuda, mackerel, or kingfish. Guides can provide equipment, or you can bring your own.

Lodging & facilities

Eleven thatched cabanas are available, with options catering for everyone from single travellers through to families. Ten of the cabanas are gathered around a central boardwalk system, creating a village feel. The eleventh is set back a mile into the jungle for those seeking an adventurous experience. All cabanas are built well above the ground and many have private balconies with hammocks and views of the Moho River or gardens.

There’s a bar and restaurant in the main lodge, and plenty of on-site activities including birding, horseback riding, kayaking, swimming, medicinal plant walks, or simply relaxing in a hammock. Wireless internet is available in the main lodge.
