A selection of rooms, suites and villas are on offer at the Captain’s Table, along with instant access to red-hot fishing – in the Everglades backcountry or in the Gulf of Mexico. With plenty of eco tours to keep non-fishing guests happy, this is a great wilderness option for the fisherman travelling with family.

The fishing

Snook, redfish and trout provide the mainstay of fishing, while tarpon (which start showing up in the spring) and permit are also abundant here.
According to the folks at the lodge, “Fishing in the 10,000 Islands is one of the most unique experiences an angler can ever have. A trip into the myriad of mangrove islands, tidal rivers and creek where there are no roads, stores or any other familiar signs of civilization, is a true wilderness experience. The best place to begin one of these fishing adventures is from Everglades City. There are numerous highly experienced guides available for half or full day charters. Fishing is good all year and the scenery is an added bonus to any trip. Don’t forget your camera.”

The facilities

Hotel rooms are located upstairs in the lodge building. There are simple hotel rooms with a private bath or hotel rooms with bath and a screened porch. All hotel rooms have 2 double beds.
Downstairs in the lodge building, you will find 2-room suites that are great for groups or families.
The 1-bedroom villas have a queen size bed in the bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living room. Some villas offer a screened porch.
Parking for standard hotel rooms and 2-room villas is in the main, private parking lot, and the 1-bedroom villas (set up on pilings) have parking directly beneath.
Along with the Seafood Depot restaurant, there’s a waterfront pool and Tiki bar.
