The fishing

As the name would suggest, it’s all about the silver king here. Baby tarpon are the primary target, with fish ranging in size from 5 to 35lb, but there is also great sport to be had from barracuda and snook. The habitats fish can be found in range from turtle grass flats and backcountry lagoons to mangrove-lined shorelines, creeks, and bays – many of the fishing grounds are just minutes from the dock. It’s a beautiful environment, one you’ll explore from a range of spacious 18’ pangas, all of which are equipped with front casting decks.

To get the best of the fishing here, the guides recommend rods in the 7 to 9 weight range coupled with suitably lightweight tarpon flies.

Tarpon can be found year-round in these waters, although prime time is April to November.
