The fishing

The property doesn’t sit directly on the water (the beach is about five minutes away) but it’s still well placed for exploring the island. Transport around Harbour Island is traditionally done in golf buggies but if you fancy venturing further afield to explore the island’s bonefish flats, you’ll want to hire a car.

Harbour Island is also home to some excellent deep-sea fishing. Dorado, tuna, wahoo, sailfish and marlin are all present in the waters off Eleuthera. Harbour Island often plays host to the Bahamas Billfish Championship and there are plenty of charters available in town.

The facilities

Seven spacious rooms, each with a private bath, AC, ceiling fans and private entry. A continental breakfast comes as standard.  Tranquil gardens are open to all, and sunsets from the second-storey, harbor-view veranda are not to be missed. The library is equipped with satellite TV, games and books.

Rates

Rooms from $165 per night depending on season.
