Summer is quite often the best time to bag a bargain bonefishing holiday. OK, so no bonefishing holiday is a ever going to be exactly cheap, but deals like this one from Swain’s Cay Lodge on Andros Island in the Bahamas certainly help…

If you book your fishing package by the end of August, you’ll get either an extra night for free or a complimentary room upgrade. The folks at Swain’s Cay have also knocked 10% off the price of fishing in July and August. These aren’t usually considered the prime months for bonefishing, but on Andros you’re looking at a year-round fishery.

The lodge itself is on Mangrove Cay, in the central part of Andros. Having stayed there ourselves, we can thoroughly recommend it. One of our favourite bits was the flat right outside the lodge. You can wake up, grab a rod and be fishing within about one minute. And that is our kind of place.
