New on Fishipedia: Scotland Section

Here at Fishipedia we upload new content more or less every day. New listings for fishing lodges, charters and independent guides are being added all the time, so we don’t always make a big song and dance about it when it happens. But when we add a whole new section to the website, and when that happens to be a new Scotland section, we tend to think it’s worth mentioning.

You probably already have a romanticised idea of fishing in Scotland – long, winding, peat-tinged rivers flecked with bars of swimming silver, rugged highland scenery and remote lochs populated by wild brown trout. This is one of those occasions where the reality matches the fantasy.

Scotland is a special place – rivers such as the Spey and the Tay, the Tweed and the Dee, have cemented its place in salmon-fishing folklore. But it’s not all salmon and trout – Scotland is home to some exceptional pike fishing, not to mention miles of coastline to explore for the saltier species.

If you’re considering a trip to this small but perfectly formed fisherman’s paradise, make sure you check out our new Scotland fishing section here. Inside, you’ll find:

  • Dedicated salmon section with region-by-region listings for all the top ghillies and salmon guides
  • Recommendations for all the best fishing lodges and hotels, plus self-catering options
  • Dedicated pike section with recommended fisheries and listings for top guides
