Captain Will Benson’s World Angling – Lower Keys
If you’re a flats fisherman, chances are you’ve heard of Will Benson. Not only is this Florida Keys fly-fishing guide a world-renowned expert in his field, but he’s also responsible for some knockout fishing films. His “day job” is heading up World Angling – a collective of guides offering flats, bay boat and light-tackle fishing charters from Key West to the Everglades.
The fishing
If it swims in the waters of South Florida, the World Angling team can help you catch it. Will himself operates in the Key West area, specializing in chasing tarpon, permit and bonefish in locations including Key West, the Marquesas, Sugarloaf Key and Big Pine Key.
However, between them the World Angling crew cover the whole area from the Lower Keys up to Islamorada, Key Largo and Biscayne Bay, and into the Everglades National Park and Southwest Florida. That opens up a range of angling possibilities and gives you the chance to fish for redfish, snook, barracuda, sailfish, dolphin, wahoo, cobia, snapper, grouper and sharks.
All ability levels are catered for. Anglers are welcome to bring their own gear, but top-quality equipment is available to use on every boat. You just need to bring a hat, polarized sunglasses, sunblock, rain gear and a camera, plus your food and drinks.

Bay Boat (fly and spin, 4 people max)
8-hour full day: $725 6-hour 3/4 day: $600 4-hour half day: $475
Light-tackle wreck and offshore fly and spin for sailfish, dolphin, wahoo, permit, tarpon, grouper, snapper, tuna (6 people max)
8-hour full day: $900 6-hour 3/4 day: $750 4-hour 1/2 day: $600
