The fishing

Located less than an hour from the Orlando theme parks, Tom Van Horn’s Mosquito Lagoon Fishing Charters specialises in a wide range of camping and light-tackle fishing charters (both saltwater and freshwater) covering the areas of Mosquito Lagoon, Indian River, Banana River, Port Canaveral and Sebastian Inlet. Target species include redfish, speckled sea trout, black drum, tarpon, snook and plenty more in the backcountry, or you can go after cobia, kingfish, tripletail, tarpon and snook in the inlets or off the beaches.

For something a little different, Captain Tom also offers paddle charters aboard his 18′ Old Town canoe in the No-Motor Zone of the Banana River, where reds, trout, snook and tarpon are on the menu. All equipment, fishing tackle, and bait are provided as well as a Florida State fishing license for up to three people.
