The fishing

Most fishing takes place aboard Steve’s 1999 Hell’s Bay Boatworks Guide 18’ flats skiff. For the most part (and depending on the season), you’ll be targeting tarpon, bonefish, redfish, snook and permit on fly and spin tackle. The boat is fully equipped with the finest rods, reels and tackle available including Hatch reels, G Loomis, Sage, Scott, Tibor, Abel, Nautilus, Schimano and Diawa.

Steve has also added a Maverick 2200 Pathfinder to his fleet, allowing clients to fish offshore, gulf wrecks and deep into the shallow waters of the Everglades National Park for the same price as his regular charter. If there’s water to be fished in this part of the world, chances are Steve can cover it.

And all of this comes with his personal pledge: “This isn’t a part-time deal or hobby for me. I fish because it’s my passion, and am on the water building my backcountry resume almost every day. I’m patient and like to help all levels of anglers achieve their full potential – and land that dream fish! Tell me your angling aspirations and I’ll get you there.”

Very nice guy but we were disappointed in our guided session. There were only 4 bait, 2 mullets, 2 live crab and only fished with 2 poles. Appeared to be unprepared for trip. Caught no fish but had an enjoyable but expensive 4 hour boat ride.
