The fishing

In billfishing terms, it doesn’t get much better, with the waters around Silver Fish Lodge home to sailfish, black marlin, blue marlin, striped marlin, short-billed spearfish and broadbill. There’s even the outside chance of the ‘fantasy slam’ (five billfish in 24 hours).
Billfishing aside, you can expect to run into plenty of other game fish, including four species of trevally, queenfish, king mackerel, queen mackerel, job fish, yellowfin tuna, bonito and skipjack tuna, dorado, wahoo, cobia, amberjack and barracuda. The best time of the year for fishing is November through June. During winter months (June through September) fishing remains constant, especially for sailfish and queen mackerel. A variety of fly-fishing techniques are also practised here – both from the boat and also from the beach.
