The fishing

Abbie offers the full spectrum of Belize fishing options. You can pole the shallow, calm waters for tarpon, bonefish and permit (this is a great place to target the flats grand slam) or you can head into the backcountry, using light conventional tackle, lures, and/or live bait, to target traditional flats species along with snapper, barracuda, jacks, cobia and sharks. For a little family fun, you can head out to the reef and catch snapper, yellowtail, grouper and barracuda.

While most people will be sucked in by the flats and backcountry fishing here, it’s worth remembering that just beyond the reef, there’s some good deep-sea action, with the sport from the likes of wahoo, dorado, blue marlin, blackfin tuna, king mackerel, grouper and barracuda.

Lodging and other services

In addition to their own beachfront accommodation, GoFish Belize now work with a variety of local hotels and can offer a range of lodging options to suit all budgets. They also know all the best fishing fly-fishing flats on the island, so if you fancy a little bit of DIY bonefishing, they can place you somewhere with fishing outside the front door. Just get in touch with them and they’ll handle it all for you…

Abbie is great. On the 18th of December 2012, hooked nine permit and landed eight. He worked hard to get the boat in the best position.
