The fishing

Here’s Captain Rob himself with a taster of what awaits fishermen visiting the Keys: “Gin-clear water, white sand and turtle grass flats, pushes of bonefish at dawn, tailing permit on an incoming tide and tarpon rolling along channel edges. That’s what it’s all about down here.”

Other species include barracuda, redfish, sharks, jacks and more – all of which can be caught on the fly or light-tackle spin tackle.

Rob’s boat is a 2009 Beavertail BTX powered by a 60 HP Evinrude E-TEC and is outfitted with fly and spinning gear from G Loomis, Temple Fork Outfitters, Sage and Shimano. Anglers can of course bring their own gear if they wish.
