Ascension Bay Fishing Report with Captain Greg Rahe

Captain Greg Rahe, guide and owner of Club Grand Slam on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, reports on a soggy old month…

June in one word: wet! Freaky, once in a blue moon, weather that left Caribbean fishing lodges from Mexico to Cuba to South Florida to the Bahamas, and stretching South through Belize to Venezuela.  Heavy cloud cover and record rains. As we move into July, we are back to normal weather with clear skies and little fishing pressure. June was still a spectacular month with lots of big bonefish, tarpon, and permit filling anglers’ days. One redeeming quality of foul weather, is that photos turn out so darn nice!
