Although summer arrivals tend to slow down here in Ascension, it is one of the best times if you are looking for blue bird days and a bay unto oneself.

We had a great group from South Africa, and I have found as with all anglers from that side of the pond – they can just flat out fish. Their enthusiasm for fishing is only matched by their love of good food and libations.

I would say my highlight of their fishing was not permit, but a massive 8 kilo Mutton snapper on fly deep in the backcountry of Lost Man Lagoon. That is a prize few fly anglers accomplished.
