Recently refurbished, this hotel’s once-rustic atmosphere has now given way to a more luxurious feel. One thing hasn’t changed though: The Cove, Eleuthera continues to rank among the island’s favourite hotels. Located just 20 minutes south of North Eleuthera airport in Gregorytown, it provides easy access to many of the island’s best bonefishing flats, plus deep-sea fishing.

The fishing

The Cove is not a bonefish lodge, but it’s a great base for those wanting some DIY bonefishing. There are plenty of bonefish guides in the local area – Paul Petty is one of the most well-respected, and booking him for at least a day is recommended for those planning on bonefishing in the area. Deep-sea fishing can also be arranged in the town.

The facilities

The Cove’s 26 bungalows, rooms and suites are all air-conditioned, with spacious living areas. All are steps from the hilltop pool, restaurant and pink sand beach. Complimentary services for guests include wireless internet, bicycles, snorkelling equipment, tennis and fitness equipment and kayaks. Staff will point you in the direction of bonefish guides, deep-sea fishing charters, island tours and plenty more.
