A highly-rated bonefish lodge and guide service in Deadman’s Cay, Long Island. Set up by Samuel Knowles, this native Long Islander (and his fellow guides Jerry and Frank Cartwright) have worked hard to turn this into the sort of bonefish lodge that fishermen return to year after year. With some of the most affordable prices going, this place is hard to beat for top quality, budget bonefishing.

The fishing

One of the great things about staying here is the proximity to the fishing grounds. The nearest flat is just 3-5 minutes ride from the lodge (mostly hard-bottomed, so great for wading), the inner coastal flats are just 10-15 minutes from the lodge and the outer coastal fishery is an extra 5-10 minutes beyond that. Whichever flat you end up on, you can expect it to be deserted of people and populated by excellent numbers of bonefish, most of them around the 4lb mark. There’s also plenty of sport from cudas and sharks if you fancy a change.
Anglers are asked to only use barbless hooks in order to comply with Samuel’s catch and release policy.

The facilities

Located on the flats of Deadman’s Cay, five minutes from the airport, the lodge consists of three double-occupancy air-conditioned units, each offering two bedrooms, private bathroom, fully-equipped kitchen and front room with sofa, television and phone.

A screened porch with tables and chairs provides a common area for dinner and drinks with a perfect view of the sunset over the flats. A dinner menu of fresh seafood and regional favourites is delivered to your door. Lodge capacity is six anglers at a time.  Confirmed reservations for a group of six secures exclusivity.
