Posada Acuarela – Los Roques, Venezuela
Not a dedicated fishing lodge, but this excellent posada is the choice of many visiting angler and is well used to both fishing and non-fishing guests. With 11 rooms, a renowned restaurant and laid-back island feel, this is a perfect place to unwind after a long day on the flats hunting bonefish.
The fishing
Staying at Posada gives anglers quick and easy access to all the excellent fishing of Los Roques. The staff at Acuarela will be happy to put you in touch with a local guide who can get you out to the outstanding flats surrounding Gran Roque. Bonefish are the primary target and they’re present in huge numbers here, alongside occasional tarpon on the deeper flats and of course, permit. If you fancy a spot of DIY bonefishing, check out the flats around the town in Gran Roque. Be warned though – these areas experience a lot of pressure and restrictions apply.
Lodging & facilities
Eleven rooms, all with private bathrooms, excellent food from the respected kitchen, porch and roof terrace with telescope and hammocks. Library, bar and room service also available.
