The fishing

This being the Exumas, one of the highlights is the potential for wading. You’ll need a boat to reach the best flats though, and the guides at Peace & Plenty (working on a rotational basis) will of course be happy to see to that. The average size of bones is in the area is in the 3-5lb bracket, with the possibility of bigger single fish, particularly if you head east towards Little Exuma. A trip to the outer cays may even get you a shot at a permit, but don’t bank on it.

The facilities

Eight rooms (all air-conditioned) with two queen beds, bathroom and a patio overlooking the ocean.
In the main lodge you’ll find the restaurant and bar. At the end of the day, you can enjoy a gourmet meal in the dining room and discuss the day’s events in the fisherman’s lounge or watch the sharks feeding just after sunset.

7 nights: $2,205 per person (single occupancy: $3164)*
* Guided fishing is an extra $200 per person (double occupancy) or $400 for single fishermen.
