The fishing

Fishing hours on board La Reina are at the discretion of clients. After breakfast, your guides will be ready to depart for fishing from 7.45am and you’ll usually be fishing within 15 minutes of leaving the yacht.

For lunch you can either retire to the comfort and shade of the mothership, or take a pack lunch with you (your guide may recommend this if you’re fishing more remote flats).
Clients can fish late into the evening if they like, since it’s usually only a short run to get back to La Reina. Fishing weeks on board the yachts run from Saturday to the following Friday (from mid-October to the end of August).

Jardines de la Reina itself is incredible – a pristine, unspoilt fishery filled with bonefish, permit, tarpon, jacks, barracuda, sharks, snapper and snook. For fishermen keen to try a range of techniques, from fly fishing to spin fishing, trolling along the reef, or bottom fishing for snapper and grouper, La Reina is the ideal choice.

The facilities

With four double rooms, four bathrooms and fully air-conditioned throughout, La Reina is a great Cuba fishing holiday option for smaller groups (up to four ideally). Meals are served on the large upper deck, and it’s here that you may want to relax with a cigar and a drink after a long day on the water. The showers have plenty of hot water.
Dinners are mostly seafood-based, with fresh mutton snapper and grouper readily available. Other traditional Cuban dishes like chicken and pork are also part of the weekly menu.
