The fishing
While deep-sea trolling is also on offer, fly-fishing is the discipline of choice on the vast flats of Chetumal Bay. Bonefish, tarpon, and permit are all present in decent numbers in both the flats and the mangrove-fringed lagoons. The lodge reckon to have mapped out 29 productive flats and lagoons, and the local guides continue to find and explore new ones. As well as the flats holy trinity, you can also expect to encounter snook, jacks, tuna, barracuda, snapper, grouper, dorado, marlin, sailfish, and more.
The facilities
16 individual, private cabanas, (all recently refurbished), with traditional palapa roofs. Each cabana has its own private bathroom, fresh hot water and daily maid service. There’s a fully-stocked bar and cold beer available at any time. The beachfront restaurant, which specializes in Caribbean specials and seafood, is open every day. A breakfast buffet is included with your room price.
24-hour electric power is generated by wind and solar panels, with diesel generator back-up when needed.
