A relatively new operation in Punt Allen, the Case de Ascension is an intimate three-room hotel sitting just a few steps from the Caribbean and right on the doorstep of some outstanding flats fishing. Caters to fishermen and non-fishermen alike, offering straightforward by-the-night rates or package deals for would-be bonefishermen.
The fishing
Located in Punta Allen, the Casa de Ascension gives you perfect access to some of the finest sportfishing possible. All the flats favourites abound, including bonefish, tarpon, permit and snook as well as jacks, barracuda and snapper. Deep-sea fishing can also be arranged.
The facilities
Three rooms (all air-conditioned), open-air restaurant and a communal living area with satellite TV and wireless broadband internet. As well as fishing, the Casa can organise eco tours and snorkelling trips.
Rates
$65-$85 per night depending on the room.
All-inclusive deals can be arranged for $145 per night (per person) or $325 per person (including a full day flats fishing).
